Dr. Komai’s Residence
Classic and retro Western-style building
The Komai Family Residence is located in a quiet residential area in Kitashirakawa, Kyoto.
It was built in 1927 as the private residence of Dr. Komai of Kyoto University. It was built to blend in well with the surrounding environment, based on the Spanish style that was popular in America at the time, and features red Japanese roofing tiles.
You can enjoy taking photos in a classic, retro atmosphere inside the building.
