This is the head temple of the Jodo sect of Buddhism, built on land associated with the monk Honen, and is home to many important cultural properties.
In addition to the national treasures of the Miei-do Hall and Sanmon Gate, you can take photos within the temple grounds, which also include gardens such as the Hojo Garden and Yuzen-en Garden.
